Muscle function scale (MFS), används främst för att se på sidoskilland i muskel funktion hos barn med torticollis. Skalan har god validitet och reliabilitet.

Barnet muskelfunktion skattas enligt MFS, barnet måste klara att hålla huvudet kvar i positionen 5 sekunder för att få "poängen". Referensvärden för barn utan nackproblem finns publicerade se "projekt" och "sammanfattningar".  Vid två månaders ålder klarar de flesta barn att hålla huvudet i medelläge dvs. en 1:a på skalan.

Muscle function scale (MFS), is used for infants with torticollis. The scale has good validity and reliability reliabilitet, there are refrence values for healthy infants.

By holding the infant horizontally around the trunk without support for the head, the degree of lateral head righting is estimated according to MFS. A hold of 5 seconds at the level is needed to achieve the score. At two months of age most healthy infants achieve level 1 in both left and right side.
